Melodramatis personae

The daily call went a little better today. I’m getting used to the nausea, even.

Work was busy today, enough to make me wonder how I even got anything done — but damn right I did.

Did I mention busy days are happy days?

At one point in our aerobics class, the trainer added in a step to jump with our feet thrown back and slap the edge with our hands, something like this:

Even on my most unsuccessful trial, it lit up a burst of energy in me. The broad smile on my face when I finally got it right the fourth time echoed across the faces of all the participants, connecting strangers by a simple non-verbal accomplishment.

I diverted from my long length novel today to work on a short story I hadn’t had the guts to write. Sex isn’t something I’ve experimented writing about, and even when I write, it’s hard to write the words ‘penis’ without instinctively replacing it with something more PG rated.

I’ll update a link when I’m done. I think I made good headway today. I want to post it up by Monday.

As I’m writing this, he texts me.

My good mood shoots down the drain.
