Genome Mining is the process of mining Gen II Brains using ASTO-Energy.

Genome Mining is a series of two-stage events:

Mining Cycle 04.

When Mining Cycle 4 starts, all ASTO-Energy generated in the previous cycle will become available for Genome Mining. Furthermore, 95,000 additional Gen II Brains will be made available for Genome Mining.

The cost of a Gen II Brain in this cycle will be 271,399Æ

As there has been more ASTO-Energy generated since Mining Cycle 03 plus the added multiplier for ASTO-USDC LP Tokens from Migration has pushed up the ASTO-Energy price slightly.

ASTO-Energy is a valuable proof of participation utility for the ASTO token. It is accrued by staking ASTO tokens, ASTO Auction LP tokens or ASTO-USDC Uniswap LP tokens. It is not a currency or token with external value outside of the ASM protocol or ecosystem.

ASTO-Energy will be required to mine Gen II Brains, and any unused ASTO-Energy will be available for use in future Genome Mining events and other protocol utility and use cases.

This is the first use case for ASTO-Energy, but it won’t be the last. ASTO-Energy will be integrated into the Altered State Machine platform. More mechanics to generate ASTO-Energy beyond Genome Mining will be introduced as new use cases arise, the first of which to be announced before the end of Mining Cycle 4.

ASTO-Energy will be accumulated by adding ASTO or LP tokens to the Lunaris Machine during a series of Production Cycles, further mechanics to generate ASTO-Energy will be introduced as more use cases arise.

Genome Mining will run over a series of 60-day cycles. At the end of each cycle, your accumulated ASTO-Energy will become available and can then be used to mine Gen II Brains.

Those who add ASTO and/or Uniswap LP tokens into the Lunaris Machine will also be able to generate ASTO-Energy.

All this may be confusing if you don’t know about ASTO, the Altered State Machine Token, used to power the ASM Platform. You can learn more about ASTO here.

All Genome Mining events will be done within the ASM Cortex. If you are staking ASTO or ASTO LP tokens for the first time in Mining Cycle 4, you will have to wait until after this 60 day cycle is over in order to use the ASTO-Energy you have accumulated. You can keep your ASTO-Energy balances across Production Cycles if you have not generated enough to mine a single Gen II in the first Mining Cycle.

Genome Mining terms to know: Radius: The size of your chosen mining location. Sweep: How many Brains you’d like to mine within your chosen Radius.

For Example: If you have enough ASTO-Energy to mine four Gen II Brains and you want to mine all in one go, you can choose to select Radius x2 and Sweep x2. This will mine across two grid plots twice, resulting in a total of four Gen II Brains.Setting the Radius to x1 and the Sweep to x4 would also result in mining four Gen II Brains, but all from the same coordinates.

Yes. All unused ASTO-Energy will remain yours to be used in the current, and all future, Mining Cycles. ASTO-Energy will have further utility in the future outside of Genome Mining.

Ascended Brains are seeded across the map of Alleriya in hidden veins, you may be lucky enough to find one while mining. Ascended Brains are highly specialized, having Genome Matrices that predispose them to excel at certain tasks. We’re still not sure what tasks they may be experts in; you’ll have to discover that in the next phase of Brain development via training.

Region Lore Cards provide the backstory of each region. They also give players insight into the number of Brains mined from that region. Lore cards are activated by clicking on a region icon on the Genome Mining map.

Personalized ASTO-Energy Stats are now displayed at the beginning of the Genome Mining cycle. This will let you know how much ASTO-Energy you’ve produced, and how many Gen II Brains you’ll be able to mine.

The Inventory page now lets you view all of your beautiful Brains natively on the Cortex and be able to click directly on their coordinates to be redirected to their mining locations.

Due to the complex nature of the Gen II Brain, a unique Genome Matrix needs to be assigned, then the mining process takes place before the Brain can be viewed on secondary marketplaces. Current estimates put this delay at up to an hour after being mined.

There is no difference, and you are free to mine any time in the cycle. However, early miners may discover unique variety of Brains before you.

All unspent ASTO-Energy will be kept and available for use in future Mining Cycles and any future use cases beyond Genome Mining.

More Gen II Brains will become available in future Mining Cycles which will allow more time for you to generate the required ASTO-Energy to secure a Gen II Brain.

If you have LP tokens from the USDC/ASTO pair on the Uniswap pool, you be able to take part in Genome Mining and will receive at least a 10% multiplier across all Production Cycles. Your LP tokens can be added and removed at any time and won’t lose out on any ASTO-Energy they generated while staked. You can partially remove the LP token value and it will adjust your daily generation rate.

TL/DR: We will use a simple contract to update the multiplier to guard LP token stakers against market fluctuation in terms of ASTO-Energy generation when compared to those who stake ASTO alone.

Long version: At any given time there is a value for ASTO based on the going price on Uniswap DEX. Within your ASTO Auction LP tokens there is ASTO and USDC. As the value of ASTO changes the numbers of each token within the LP also changes.

So what we do is check out the conversion rate and pick the highest rate for the day on Uniswap and then calculate the value of your LP just in ASTO (ASTO held within LP plus the ASTO value of USDC within LP). Once we have the highest daily average overall LP value in ASTO, we apply the multiplier so if ASTO price goes way down for instance the ASTO-Energy Generation will still be maintained even when the amount of ASTO within your LP will have changed.

The multiplier will be dynamically adjusted so your ASTO-Energy generation will be doing better than if you were to withdraw and place just ASTO into the Lunaris Machine. We are protecting the user’s ASTO-Energy generation rate by setting a dynamic calculation that isn’t realised till the end of the user’s Production Cycle. This way we can ensure LP tokens are better off than those who only stake ASTO and gives us the means to reward Liquidity Providers properly.

You can only remove (unstake) ASTO or Uniswap LP tokens at any time without losing the ASTO-Energy you have generated while staked.

Removing ASTO Auction participation on Lunaris Machine turns ASTO Auction tokens into normal Uniswap tokens. The user should be able to see their LP token value in their wallet.

Gen II Brains will share the same functions as Genesis Brains; capable of training, evolving and each with its own unique Genome Matrix. Genesis Brains will continue to have exclusive perks.

This amount of Gen II Brains were released at the beginning of each relative cycle. Mining Cycle 1: 35,000 Mining Cycle 2: 55,000 Mining Cycle 3: 75,000 Mining Cycle 4: 95,000 Total after Mining Cycle 4: 260,000

We do not expect there to be any shortage of Gen II Brains, with future releases of Gen II Brains to be announced.

Each cycle lasts 60 days, with the next cycle beginning immediately after the previous cycle finishes. Any future changes to this process of cycles will be clearly announced beforehand.

ASTO-Energy will be generated at a 1:1 ratio per day, i.e. a single ASTO held in the Production Cycle for 60 days will generate 60 ASTO-Energy. LP tokens will have a multiplier to boost this calculation.

We have calculated the ASTO-Energy needed for each Gen II Brain by dividing the total ASTO-Energy by the number of Gen II Brains within each Production Cycle.

This way all participants receive a fair chance to mine Gen II Brains. Any unspent ASTO-Energy and unmined Gen II Brains then carry over to the next cycle.
