Creature Comfort

A poem

I roll the purr in my throat,

Like a half-formed snore,

As I cuddle deeper

Into heat of

Warm blankets.

My elastic limbs expand

Stretching back as far

As fur fluffs,

Thicker in a cold

To chill damp noses.

Lover of comfort,

I ball myself

Foetus-shape. In ice days

I search out the sun

To laze life away.
