The Reality of It All

THE TRUTH HURTS!

Sometimes the truth hurts. Let me rephrase that, most of the time it does. You can work your behind off trying to make people happy, but in reality, neither party is happy. The people you are trying to impress ignore you, pay you dust, or angry at you for exerting a copious amount of effort into something “silly”. While behind the scenes you have put countless hours of your time and effort thinking about what to say to make them happy, perhaps, simple good luck before an exam or thinking ahead to comfort them in case a bad situation occurs.

This is a common problem. People that you will encounter in life will always have a different way of responding to you. Some of these responses can be positive by treating you the same or better than you have treated them. Or negatively, which onsets stress and worry which you can live without. However, as hard as these situations are, everyone must come to terms with it. Some people may be a little hard-headed and require some time to understand how you want to be treated, while others it maybe is best to let time do its course. If you feel like too much of your effort and time has been wasted then move on. Even though this isn’t the easiest of options.
I have had such encounters. Some of which I currently face and others I let time do its thing and those people have exited my life, to put it in the nicest of terms. What I learned from this is that people can surprise you. Some may seem like the nicest of people but when you build a connection, friendship or otherwise they may not be who they appeared to be. While others can surprise you in the best of ways.
Furthermore, my advice to everyone is to be careful who you put your time, effort, and trust in because sometimes it may not be reciprocated. But oftentimes, if you choose correctly or remain patient, people can surprise you.
