The Best Coffee shops for Remote Work in Taipei

Hana in Taiwan

Possibly my favorite thing about Taipei is the abundance of coffee shops on nearly every street corner

Not only do they serve delicious drinks, but coffee shops are also a great place to study or log into online meetings. Here’s a roundup of reliable chains and hidden gems to turn to when your apartment’s WiFi isn’t cutting it anymore.

Dreamers has become my go-to. Its 10 Taipei locations stay open from early morning to late at night, with plenty of open tables, accessible chargers, and a steady internet connection even during busy hours.

Try: Orange cinnamon roll and sparkling pomegranate tea

Decorated with vintage posters, calendars, and record covers, Le Park Cafe is a cozy spot to while away a rainy afternoon pretending you’re in Europe. The menu keeps it simple with a small selection of beverages, including affogato. Hidden away in Zhongshan District, it’s almost always very quiet.

Try: Salmon quiche

Like Dreamers, Louisa is a popular chain — for good reason. The easily recognizable black and orange logo of the “Starbucks of Taiwan” can be seen in over two dozen locations in the city; many have extra downstairs or upstairs spaces if you’re looking for a quieter atmosphere.

Try: Bagels and a matcha latte

This cat Café is just across the street from National Taiwan University in Da’an district of Taipei. The homestyle fare is super affordable, but the main attraction is the friendly cats who call the Café home. I’ll be honest: not a lot of work will get done here, but it’s a great choice if you’re in the mood to unwind!

Try: Chocolate waffles

For a more traditional coffee experience, head down the street from Meow and step into this tiny nook, where you can enjoy a latte and observe regulars chatting with the owner.

Try: Milk tea
